This is a question we are asked often. The answer is this:We really prefer you don't.HERE'S WHY:Our jewellery is made with Gold Fill and solid Sterling Silver. Gold Fill can be up to 100 times thicker than plated jewellery. But even though the quality is high, these metals can still be affected by moisture in the air, the chemicals in perfumes, lotions or cleaners. Even your body's unique PH balance can have an impact on how your jewellery lasts over time. (Some people can see a difference in how quickly their jewellery tarnishes based on whether they are coffee drinkers or not!)SO WHAT'S THE WORST THAT WILL HAPPEN?Your metals may darken and require re-polishing, and some stones may change colour. Chains are the hardest to re-polish versus smoother surfaces like bangles and rings, so taking your necklaces off is a great way to start practicing a good habit!THE #1 TIP TO KEEPING YOUR JEWELLERY LOOKING ITS BEST?Avoid moisture. This goes for gemstones and pearls as well. Softer, more porous gems (like opals) easily absorb oils and chemicals which can damage the stone.TRY TO GET INTO THIS ROUTINE:Make your jewellery the last thing you put on when dressing, and the first thing you take off at home.Allowing all perfumes and lotions to be absorbed into the skin before wearing your jewellery, taking your jewels off before showering or exercising, and keeping them stored in an airtight container or bag when not being worn are the most effective tips to keeping your treasures looking their best for years!
