Why I'm starting a Podcast:
It’s no secret that social media isn’t real.
For example: I rarely have my hair and makeup done, and there’s a filter doing A LOT of the heavy lifting in the above photos.
But the biggest thing lacking on social media is this:
The struggle.
The stuff in between the before and after photos. After almost a decade of building LYD I have officially hit my limit of the following:
✔️success stories where everything worked out perfectly
✔️cellulite-free bikini photos
✔️unapproachable “cool kid” aesthetics
Because honestly?
There is nothing that will knock your cool kid sunglasses off quicker than building a business. The rejection, loss, and embarrassment is overwhelming. It’s a journey FULL of mistakes and failures. (No matter what brand of clothing you wear)
I couldn’t find realistic stories when I was starting.
I get it, no one wants to share the messy stuff. But if I want to see more of it, I have to share more of it myself.
I have launched www.leahyard.com. This space is where you can get to know me better, and where I will be sharing ALL of the messy bits. I'm also launching a podcast to speak candidly about failure, and what it really means to achieve “success”.
