Spring 2023 Sample Sale
We are hosting an in-person Sample Sale at our Chinatown location. We're thrilled to be teaming up with Aralea Beauty and Molly Moth Cashmere this year. We can't wait to see you IRL!

What's a sample sale?

A sample sale is an event hosted by designers to sell samples and prototypes that are no longer in production. Items are sold "as is" at a reduced price. You can find one of a kind pieces, and nearly-new designs deeply discounted. (Insider tip: treat it like a treasure hunt! Sometimes we put items in the sale that we LOVE, but can no longer source the materials OR the item was too costly to put into production)

  • Over 300 Leah Yard Designs jewellery items to shop up to 80% OFF (including one of a kind designs)
  • Up to 30% off Molly Moth Cashmere (plus some sample items at a deeper discount)
  • Special bundle sale pricing from Aralea Beauty
  • Light refreshments
  • Plus: we're hosting an in-person GIVEAWAY (one lucky winner will win an online shopping spree!)

I'm out of town, will there be an online version?

We want to focus on making this in-person event our best yet, which is why we will not be hosting an online version this season. But, we don't want you to miss out! We are planning something special for those who can't make it. Sign up here so you don't miss any updates.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, you are absolutely welcome to bring guests. We will have enough rosé to go around!

When and where is the event?

The event will be hosted at our LYD studio in Chinatown. The address is: 161 Keefer Street, Unit 201 (right above Bao Bei Restaurant). The event will run from 12pm-5pm. We recommend coming right at noon for your best chance to find a one of a kind piece!

Is there parking?

The building does not have reserved parking. There is a parkade right down the street at 180 Keefer Street (inside the Chinatown Plaza)

I'm not sure if I can make it, do I need to rsvp?

You do not need to rsvp. Doors will be open from 12pm-5pm. We hope to see you there!

What payments are accepted?

We can accept cash, debit, or credit card in the studio.

Please note: the building is not wheelchair accessible.

A Message from Christina of Aralea Beauty:

"I created the first version of vitamin D infused lip care for my father.  Living with Parkinson’s Disease, my father became more homebound and spent less time outdoors in the sun.  Knowing the beneficial links to immunity, overall health and mood, I looked for ways to give him sufficient levels of Vitamin D without adding yet another supplement pill to his daily course of medication or handling sprays and drops with unsteady hands.

Instead I blended vitamin D, a fat-soluble vitamin, into a lip balm of oils and waxes that complimented seamlessly together.  It was a simple and effortless solution to provide him an essential vitamin boost, a way for him to reach his own optimal health.

My father’s perseverance while he lived with Parkinson’s continues to be the source of my motivation and inspiration in daily life and business.  Through Aralea Beauty, I pledge 2% of our annual net income to Parkinson Canada SuperWalk.  It is Canada's largest fundraising event for Parkinson's - raising vital funds for support, advocacy and research.

I hope our products bring a bit of sunshine and wellness into your everyday!"

About Molly Moth Cashmere:

Heather Dawson grew up watching her mother carefully build her wardrobe – choosing classic, high-end pieces that would stand the test of time. Having acquired the same sense of style and a love for fine fabrics, Heather saw and felt a market that was not being reached.

“Everyone owns the same fast-fashion pieces as each other, made from ‘cashmere blends’ that are 90% wool and are itchy.”

Just like that, the Molly Moth idea was born. In collaboration with her mother, she drew on her fashion background and began creating a line of line of luxurious cashmere coats that were classic, yet unique. Wrapped in the softness of that cashmere and the elegance of timeless styles, Molly Moth coats enabled Heather to elevate her own sophistication and style.

Using her keen eye for detail, the first collection of coats was soon created in hopes of sharing this wonderful feeling with others.
